Diaz, Min Record Hat Tricks in Win over Mountain View

DALLAS – Jose Diaz and Joseph Min both recorded hat tricks as No. 1-ranked Dallas College Richland shut out Dallas College Mountain View, 6-0.

Diaz, a freshman forward from Houston, scored the first three goals in the game. They were also his first three goals as a Thunderduck. Min, a sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan, had a natural hat trick, scoring all three goals in the second half in an eight-minute span. He leads Richland with seven goals and 16 points.

Diaz found the back of the net in the 35th minute on an assist from Min for the first goal of the game. He added another seven minutes later off a helper from Valerio Del Mastro. That sent Richland into halftime ahead, 2-0.

Diaz completed the hat trick in the 65th minute on an assist from Alan Rivera to extend the lead to three goals.

Min found the back of the net for his first goal in the 77th minute on a setup from Rivera. Five minutes later, he connected with Rivera again for his second goal that made it 5-0. Min's natural hat trick came in the 85th minute on an assist from Giuseppe Costantino.

It was the second hat trick of Min's career. He scored four goals, including three in the second half, last year in an 8-0 win over Paris Junior College.

Richland goalkeeper Emmanuel Carmona stopped 10 shots in the shutout. Mountain View keeper Abraham Mendoza was credited with 15 saves.
