Volleyball Inks 8 Players

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's volleyball team signed eight players in its 2025 recruiting class.

Head coach Grace Wells landed four defensive specialists, two outside hitters, including one who could see time in the back row, a middle blocker and a setter, who can also hit. The Thunderducks are adding defensive specialists Sidney Scott, Hope Ortiz, Alyssa Murdock and Nolyn Norris, outside hitters Lacie Charlo and Mia Gray, who can also may be used in the back row, middle blocker Lainey Teel and setter/right side hitter Kyna Rios. 

Scott is a 5-foot-6 native of Dallas Franklin D. Roosevelt High School. Ortiz, a 5-3 back row player, hails from Pasadena Dobie High School in the Houston area. Murdock, a 5-3 defensive specialist, prepped at Alba-Golden High School and is from Mineola, Texas. Charlo, a 5-9 hitter, and Norris, a 5-4 back row specialist who can also hit, played for Henderson (Texas) High School. Gray, who may be used in various roles, is a 5-4 native of Melissa, Texas, who attended Imagine International Academy of North Texas. Teel, a 5-9 front row presence from Mineola, also prepped at Alba-Golden High. Rios, a 5-6 setter who could be used as a hitter, comes from Diboll (Texas) High School.

In Wells' second season, the Thunderducks finished second in the Dallas Athletic Conference regular season, and were ranked No. 9 in the final National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll.
