Memon Named DAC Defensive Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Richland volleyball's Myra Memon was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

A 5-foot freshman defensive specialist from Denton, Texas, Memon had 39 digs and seven aces in a pair of wins for the Thunderducks last week. She averaged 5.6 digs per set, collecting a season-high 21 digs and three aces in a four-set win at then-No. 13 Dallas College North Lake. She added 18 digs and four aces in a sweep of Dallas College Cedar Valley.

Memon has 218 digs and 29 aces this season.

No. 15 Richland (14-13, 4-2 DAC) will host No. 1 Dallas College Eastfield (24-1, 6-0) at 6 p.m. Monday. The Thunderducks play at No. 9 Dallas College Brookhaven (13-10, 4-2) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
