Thunderducks Sweep ABU, Henderson State

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's volleyball team swept a pair of matches at the Thunderducks Tri-Match Wednesday.

Richland beat Arlington Baptist University, 25-13, 25-8, 25-13, and Henderson State University Junior Varsity, 25-10, 25-12, 25-11.

The Thunderducks will take an 8-9 overall record into the Blinn Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Richland hit .212 in the win over Arlington Baptist, controlling the match throughout. The Thunderducks had a .276 attack percentage, banging down 13 kills in the second set.

Jersey Glass had 11 kills and a solo block. Audrey Burleson had six kills, while hitting .286. Parker Kimball had 16 assists and four kills. Isabella Foutz had 14 assists, five of Richland's nine aces and nine digs. Kara Washington had 11 digs.

Foutz's five aces were a season high.

In the win over Henderson State, Richland raced out to a fast start in an efficient opening set, pounding 15 kills, while committing just one hitting error in a set the Thunderducks hit .311. The Thunderducks committed only eight hitting errors in the match. They finished with a .216 attack percentage.

Glass finished with 11 kills again, marking the third straight match she had double-digit kills, while hitting .312. Audrey Burleson had 10 kills, and hit .360. Kensington Jordon had six kills. Kimball had 19 assists, three aces and seven digs. Foutz had 13 assists, 13 digs and an ace. Makenna Montgomery had nine digs. Myra Memon and Washington each had seven digs and two aces.

The Thunderducks had a season-high 11 aces.

Richland will compete in the Blinn Invitational Friday and Saturday.
