Thunderducks Rally to climb over Hill in 5

HIGHLIGHT

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's volleyball team stormed back to win a five-set thrilling match over National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Hill College Monday night.

The Thunderducks (2-5) dropped the first two sets, having let a nine-point lead evaporate in the second set, to fall behind the eight ball. But Richland rallied with its backs against the wall to win the third set, 25-19, before pulling out a see-saw fourth, 25-23. The Thunderducks had command in the fifth, wrapping up the victory by putting the hammer down with a 15-9 decisive set win.

Naomi Jemison finished with 15 kills, two blocks and a .289 hitting percentage. Kara Washington had 12 kills, two aces and a block. Jersey Glass had seven kills, 10 digs, four aces and a block. Alaejah Reed put down seven balls, and had 17 assists. Christina Joseph had six kills and four blocks.

Brooklyn Amador had 28 digs, and Saydi Dalley 12. 

Richland hit .206 as a team, putting away 47 kills on 136 swings. The Thunderducks had 80 digs.

Richland will host Arlington Baptist University 6 p.m. Wednesday.
