Volleyball Begins League Play Monday

Dallas College Richland's volleyball team opens the Dallas Athletic Conference portion of its schedule Monday when the Thunderducks host Dallas College Cedar Valley.

The six-team conference schedule runs through Oct. 20. The DAC Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 25-29 at the site of the highest seed.

Richland (2-12) will compete in the Blinn Volleyball Invitational Friday and Saturday in Brenham, Texas, before returning home to begin conference play Monday.

Bailee Alexander's 148 kills, 27 blocks and 22 aces lead the Thunderducks. Selah McDowell has 114 assists, and Mia Arriaga 111. Andrea Miranda leads Richland with 122 digs, while Danielle Brown has 101. Diamond Powers has 24 blocks.

The Thunderducks went 6-5 in the DAC last year.
