No. 7 Richland Meets No. 2 Brookhaven Tuesday for DAC Title

DALLAS – They meet again to decide the Dallas Athletic Conference title.

Seventh-ranked Dallas College Richland (8-2-2, 6-1-2 DAC) plays at No. 2 Dallas College Brookhaven (8-2-3, 6-0-3) at 7 p.m. Tuesday to decide the DAC women's soccer regular season champion. The league champ will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South District Tournament Oct. 22-26.

For the past nine years, Richland or Brookhaven have decided the conference and district championships.

The two teams tied, 1-1, in the first round of conference play Sept. 27 at Richland. The DAC powers have tied once in each of the past three seasons.

The Thunderducks are unbeaten in their last eight games. The Bears have a nine-game unbeaten streak.

Richland has allowed one goal in each of the last three games and four of the past five. The Thunderducks have two shutouts in their past six games. Brookhaven enters Friday's tilt riding four consecutive shutouts. The Bears have allowed no more than one goal in all but one of their games – the season opener against NJCAA Division II Top 5-ranked Holmes Community College.

Richland battled Brookhaven to a scoreless draw during the regular season last year before the Bears won the next two meetings – both one-goal verdicts, including the district championship game.
