Acosta Named DAC Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Richland's Emily Acosta has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

It is the first league weekly award of the season.

Acosta, a sophomore forward from Rockwall, Texas, scored two goals, and had two assists in the No. 9-ranked Thunderducks' 7-1 win over Northeast Texas Community College in the season opener Friday. She scored the game's first goal eight minutes into the match, and then assisted on Linzy Villa's goal a minute later. Acosta scored again on an assist from Valeria Blanco in the 72^nd minute. Acosta drew her second assist on Savannah David's goal in the 79^th minute.

Richland (1-0-0) will host Louisiana State University Eunice (1-1-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday.
