Palmer Inducted into NJCAA Women's Soccer Hall of Fame

Former Dallas College Richland women's soccer player Chelsea Palmer was inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 class.

As a freshman at Richland in 2009, Palmer posted 10 goals and eight assists across 14 games for the Thunderducks, en route to the NJCAA DIII National Championship when Richland defeated Montgomery, 2-1. Palmer scored a goal, and had an assist in the national title game. The title marked the third in program history for the Thunderducks. Palmer earned Most Valuable Offensive Player honor at the national tournament, and was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (now United Soccer Coaches) NJCAA Division III First Team All-American. 

Palmer transferred to Tyler Junior College for her sophomore season. Appearing in 21 games at TJC, the Plano, Texas, native scored 10 goals, and led the Apaches with 13 assists. Once again, Palmer helped lead her squad to the highest peak of NJCAA soccer, claiming the 2011 NJCAA DI National Championship. The Apaches entered the national tournament as the No. 1 overall seed, and defeated Darton State, 1-0, on a Palmer goal in the title match. Tyler finished the season with a 24-0 record, claiming the program's second national title. Palmer was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team, and earned NSCAA NJCAA Division I First Team All-America honors.
