Miranda Named DAC Defensive Player of Week

Dallas College Brookhaven's Kaley Robison and Dallas College Richland's Ilce Miranda have been named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's soccer Players of the Week.

Robison, a freshman midfielder from Argyle, Texas, collected the league's offensive player award. Miranda, a sophomore goalkeeper from Plano, Texas, picked up the conference's defensive honor.

Robison had three goals and three assists in a pair of wins for National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 1 Brookhaven last week. She scored two goals, and recorded an assist in the Bears' 7-0 win over Dallas College Mountain View. Robison added a goal and two assists in Brookhaven's 8-0 victory over Dallas College Eastfield.

Robison has four goals and seven assists for 15 points this season.

Miranda recorded back-to-back shutouts, stopping nine shots as No. 4 Richland blanked Eastfield, 4-0, and Dallas College Cedar Valley, 3-0. She stopped three shots to earn her first shutout of the season in the clean sheet against Eastfield. Miranda had six saves in the blanking of Cedar Valley.

Miranda has nine shutouts in her career.

Richland (4-3-1, 4-0-1 DAC) will host Brookhaven (6-0-1, 4-0-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
