Beard Earns Third Team All-America Honors

NJCAA DIII WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-AMERICANS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland women's basketball's Paris Beard was selected as a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Third Team All-American.

A 5-foot-5 sophomore guard from Mount Pleasant, Texas, Beard averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.7 steals per game, while shooting 41.7 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. She scored a season-high 33 points, matched her season-best with 13 rebounds, and had six assists, five steals and a block in a 98-89 win over Connors State College. Beard reached double figures in all but three games as the Thunderducks went 16-8 overall, 3-1 in the Dallas Athletic Conference to win the league. She scored over 20 points in nine games, and topped 30 twice.

Beard was named DAC co-Offensive Player of the Year, earning First Team All-Conference honors.
