DALLAS -- Dallas College Richland women's basketball team beat No. 14 Dallas College Mountain View on the road, 83-76, Thursday in a Dallas Athletic Conference game.

It is the second time the Thunderducks beat the Lions this season -- the first in a nonconference matchup. Both wins came on Mountain View's home floor. It was also Richland's second win of the week, bumping the Thunderducks' record to 5-9 overall, 1-1 in the DAC.

Trailing 63-56 entering the fourth quarter, Richland outscored Mountain View, 27-13, in the final period to pull out the big win.

Richland's Paris Beard broke her own school record, scoring 43 points on 17 of 23 field goals. She scored 20 points in the first half, and finished with nine rebounds, four steals and three assists. Logan Ross finished with 24 points on 9 of 18 shooting. She was 6 of 10 from three-point range.

Trailing by eight points late in the third quarter, Richland coach Troy Thrasher called a timeout. Mountain View (9-7, 1-2) extended its lead to 65-56. Employing a 1-2-2 zone, the Lions forced the Thunderducks into empty possessions. Mountain View stretched its lead to 12 with six minutes to play.

Ross canned a three-pointer with 1:07 remaining, trimming the deficit to two. Beard then had a steal, sent the look-ahead pass to Jayda Scaife, who tied the game with a layup. After Mountain View failed to convert on the other end, Beard converted a three-point play, giving Richland a 79-76 advantage with 22.7 seconds on the clock. Following a missed three-pointer by the Lions, Beard was fouled again, and sank both free throws.

Mountain View's Laela Harris scored 25 points.
