Escorcia, Vargas Named USC All-Americans

UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-AMERICANS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dallas College Richland's Felipe Escorcia and Luis Vargas were named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans.

A sophomore midfielder from Frisco, Texas, Escorcia was named a USC Junior College Division III First Team All-American. He scored eight goals, and had a team-leading 20 assists for 36 points. He had one gamewinning goal. Escorcia scored a goal in the 4-0 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championship win over Mohawk Valley Community College.

Vargas, a freshman forward from Dallas, was named a Second Team All-American. He led the Thunderducks in goals (20), points (41) and gamewinning goals (3). Vargas scored a national tournament-high eight goals, earning him the tournament's Most Valuable Player award, while helping the program win its NJCAA-leading 12th national title.

Richland went 12-3-1 to capture its sixth straight national championship.
