Men's Soccer Opens National Tournament Wednesday in North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland's men's soccer team will open the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Championship Tournament versus Harper College 10 a.m. CT Wednesday at Caromont Health Park in Gastonia, North Carolina.

The No. 1-seeded and five-time defending NJCAA Division III champion Thunderducks (9-3-1) are coming off three straight wins in which they outscored opponents, 16-0. Richland has won 11 national titles in program history.

Harper College (3-4-4) is coming off back-to-back 2-1 shootout wins to capture the Midwest District title. The Hawks finished tied in both district matchups in regulation and the extra periods before penalty kicks decided the outcomes.

Last year, the Thunderducks beat Genessee Community College, 2-0, in the title game.

The national championship game is set for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

The NJCAA Tournament will air on the NJCAA Network.
