Dallas College Richland Defeats Dallas College Cedar Valley

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's No. 1 nationally-ranked mens soccer team came into its game Wednesday, looking to stay perfect in the Dallas Athletic Conference in its matchup with Dallas College Cedar Valley.

A physical battle dictated by defense resulted in a 1-0 win for the five-time defending National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Champions.

The Thunderducks (5-2-1, 2-0-0 DAC) knew coming into this game that the DAC matchup would be tough, what with the Suns (2-7-2, 1-1-0) playing better of late.

Freshman goalkeeper Arath Valdez and company kept Cedar Valley from scoring, limiting the Suns to two shots on goal.

Enrique Alvarez scored the game's lone goal in the 35th minute on an assist from Felipe Escorcia.

Richland will host Dallas College Mountain View 6 p.m. Wednesday.
