Five Dallas College Richland Men's Soccer players named NJCAA All-American

NJCAA DIII Men's Soccer All-America Teams

 

Off of their fifth consecutive National Junior College Athletic Association Division III title, the number 5 stays in the loop for Dallas College Richland men's soccer.

Five team members were named NJCAA All-American Wednesday.

Second Team All American

First Team All American

  MF Jonathan Gallardo Dallas College-Richland (TX)  
  D Chris Fuentes Dallas College-Richland (TX)  

Sophomore midfielder Jonathan Gallardo and sophomore defender Chis Fuentes were selected to the First Team All-America squad, while sophomore defenders Samuele Muroni and Juan Vargas and sophomore goalkeeper Lorenzo Rovei were Second Team recipients.

Gallardo had four goals and 10 assists for 18 points as the Thunderducks went 16-0-1 to win their fifth straight NJCAA DIII national title. He had the gamewinning goal in a 3-1 victory at Paris Junior College on Oct. 7.

Fuentes had five goals and two assists for 12 points. He scored two gamewinning goals, and was a centerpiece in Richland's 12 shutouts this season. The Thunderducks allowed five goals in the 17 games this season.

Muroni had five goals and an assist for 11 points. He scored a pair of gamewinning goals. Vargas had three goals and an assist for seven points. He also had two gamewinning goals, and helped the Thunderducks put together two four-game stretches without allowing a goal.

Rovei went 8-0-0 with six shutouts, while posting an 0.25 goals against average and .917 saves percentage. He surrendered two goals in 720 minutes, and was in net in Richland's national quarterfinal win over Community College of Rhode Island. He made 22 saves this season.
