
Holland Named First Team All-American
NJCAA DIII MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-AMERICANS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland men's basketball player Barack Holland was named First Team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III.
A 6-foot-3 sophomore guard from Dallas, Holland averaged 12.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game this season as the Thunderducks went 23-12 overall, 11-4 in the Dallas Athletic Conference, finishing third at the NJCAA Division III Tournament. He shot 42.9 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from the three-point line and 71.7 percent from the free throw line.
Holland scored a career-high 25 points, and had six rebounds and two blocks in a 67-65 win over Hill College in November. He reached double figures in 26 games, including the last eight. Holland scored 20 or more points in six games, including the NJCAA Division III consolation final when he finished with 21 behind 5-of-9 three-point shooting, while grabbing a career-best nine boards in an 86-69 win over Minnesota State Community & Technical College.
He was named the DAC Most Valuable Player, while earning First Team All-Conference honors.
