Washington Named Second Team All-American

NJCAA DIII ALL-AMERICANS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland men's basketball's Taven Washington was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Second Team All-American.

A 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Frisco, Texas, Washington averaged 19.1 points, while shooting 52 percent from the floor. He led the Dallas Athletic Conference in scoring, and was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year. Washington also pulled down an average of seven rebounds per game, and was good for 1.1 steals per game.

He scored in double figures in all 25 games, putting up a career-high 30 in a win over Dallas College Mountain View Feb. 14. Washington scored 20 or more points in 13 games.

Washington guided the Thunderducks to a 16-9 record and trip to the NJCAA Division III South Central District Championship.
