Trahan Earns NJCAA DIII All-American Status
Dallas College Richland men's basketball player Ed Trahan earned National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Honorable Mention All-American status Tuesday.
A 6-foot-5-inch sophomore forward from Cypress, Texas, Trahan averaged 15.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and one steal per game, while shooting 57.7 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the free throw line. He reached double figures in scoring in 19 games this past season.
Trahan had a career-high 30 points and 16 rebounds against No. 10 Dallas College Eastfield in the final week of the regular season. He had 20 or more points in nine games, and recorded 13 double-doubles this season as the Thunderducks, who were ranked in the Top 10 of the national poll most of the season, went 15-11, advancing to the NJCAA Division III South Central District championship game.
He was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week Feb. 16.
