Trahan Named First Team All-DAC, Thunderducks Win 4 Awards
Dallas College Richland men's basketball's Ed Trahan earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.
Taven Washington was a Second Team pick, while Devin Teague and Coco Rose were Honorable Mention selections.
A 6-foot-5-inch sophomore forward from Cypress, Texas, Trahan averaged 15.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and one steal per game, while shooting 57.7 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the free throw line. He reached double figures in scoring in 19 games, including 10 in a row at the tail end of the season. Trahan had a career-high 30 points and 16 rebounds against No. 10 Dallas College Eastfield in the final week of the regular season. He had 20 or more points in nine games, and recorded 13 double-doubles this season. Trahan was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week Feb. 16.
A 6-4 freshman forward from Frisco, Texas, Washington scored nine points, and grabbed 3.2 rebounds, while shooting 57.6 percent from the floor, 44 percent from three-point range and 84.2 percent from the free throw stripe. He scored in double figures in 10 games, including six straight. Washington had a season-high 21 points, going 8-for-8 from the stripe, in a win over Dallas College Brookhaven Feb. 11.
A 5-10 sophomore guard from Carrollton Texas, Teague scored 9.1 points, and shot 73.5 percent from the free throw line. He scored in double figures in 12 games, and had a season-high 28 points and 10 rebounds in a victory at No. 8 Eastfield.
A 6-1 freshman guard from Odessa, Texas, Rose averaged 9.6 points, while shooting 41.6 percent from the field. He scored in double figures in 13 games, including three in a row on two occasions. Rose had a season-high 19 points twice, and had five assists in a win at Dallas College Cedar Valley Feb. 15.
