Trahan Earns Final DAC Player of Week Honor of Season

Dallas College Richland's Ed Trahan was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

It is the final league weekly award of the season. It is also the third time this season and second in a row Trahan has been selected as the conference Player of the Week.

A 6-foot-4 sophomore forward from Cypress, Texas, Trahan averaged 24 points and 13 rebounds, while shooting 72 percent from the field as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III 11th-ranked Thunderducks went 1-1 in the final week of the regular season. He shot 18 of 25 from the floor and 11 of 15 from the free throw line, and had two steals and two assists in the two games.

Trahan scored 30 points on 12 of 17 shooting, grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and had one steal and one assist in a 94-89 loss to then-No. 10 Dallas College Eastfield. He had 18 points, 10 boards, a steal and an assist, while going 6 of 8 from the floor, in an 81-60 win at Dallas College Mountain View.

Trahan has scored in double figures in his last nine games and 18 overall. His two double-doubles during the week gave him 12 on the season. He is averaging 15.8 points and 9.3 rebounds, while shooting 57.6 percent from the field.

Richland will play 8 p.m. Thursday in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District semifinals at Dallas College North Lake against the highest remaining seed after Tuesday's quarterfinal games.
