Dallas College Richland's Ed Trahan was named the Dallas Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week.

This is the second time this season Trahan has received the award.

A 6-foot-4 sophomore forward from Cypress, Texas, Trahan averaged 20 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and had two steals as the Thunderducks (12-8, 4-2 DAC) won three league games last week. He shot 67 percent from the field, going 26 of 39.

Trahan scored 24 points on 12 of 15 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had an assist in then-No. 9 nationally-ranked Richland's 109-105 win at then-No. 8 Dallas College Eastfield Wednesday. He had 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting, 10 boards, an assist and a steal in a 92-61 win over Dallas College Mountain View last Monday. Trahan finished with 19 points, going 7 of 13 from the floor, pulled down eight rebounds, had five assists and a steal in an 81-72 victory over Dallas College Brookhaven to halt the Bears' three-game win streak.

Trahan is averaging 14.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

Richland, which jumped up a spot to No. 8 in this week's National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, will play at Dallas College Cedar Valley 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Thunderducks will play at No. 2 Dallas College North Lake 1 p.m. Saturday.
