Dallas College's seven campuses offer esports gaming competition. Students attending any of the Dallas College campuses, and meeting academic requirements, can compete in esports at any of the college districts campuses.

Dallas College athletics will begin competing in esports next week as part of the 2022-23 season. The esports schedule runs in both the fall and spring semesters.

Last year's spring semester marked the introduction to esports' gaming competition throughout Dallas College's seven campuses: Dallas College Brookhaven, Dallas College Cedar Valley, Dallas College Eastfield, Dallas College El Centro, Dallas College Mountain View, Dallas College North Lake and Dallas College Richland.

The esports participants compete in different categories or titles such as Madden, FIFA, NBA2K, Call of Duty and Valorant. In general, esports has 13 different titles. Teams are formed from different titles. In the Dallas College athletics program, students are allowed to attend any of the seven campuses, and compete for teams at other campuses based on interest, experience, need and title or category of competition. Dallas College esports offers flexibility to students attending the required amount of credit hours and keeping up with the school system's academic requirements to compete in esports.

Last year, in the first year of existence Mountain View's eSports program, the Mountain Lions earned the right to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association esports NBA2K Spring Finals. Aahil Ajani competed in the national championship event in late April.

Different coaches and Dallas College's Director of esports, Krasi Kolarov, oversee the gaming program throughout the seven campuses. Sky McCort coaches the programs at North Lake, Brookhaven and Richland. Marcus Woodard is the esports coach at Cedar Valley and Eastfield. Brody Rush is the coach at Mountain View and Dallas College El Centro.

Generation esports was founded in 2012, and is home of competitive gaming, bringing tournaments, gaming communities and educational curriculum to colleges, high schools and middle schools.
