Amarante Selected as National Player of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland baseball's Sean Amarante was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week.

A sophomore outfielder from Houston, Amarante went 7-for-11 (.636) with a pair of home runs, six runs batted in and three runs scored as the No. 4-ranked Thunderducks won one of four games with Vernon College last week. Amarante homered in back-to-back games, and was 3-for-5 with three RBI in the final game of the series. 

Entering the week, Amarante had a .583 batting average through four games this season.

Richland (3-3) plays a three-game series at Bossier Parish Community College Friday and Saturday.
