
Hockemeyer, Smith Named First Team All-Americans
NJCAA DIII BASEBALL ALL-AMERICANS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Richland's Nick Hockemeyer and Trey Smith were selected as National Junior College Athletic Association Division III First Team All-Americans.
A freshman outfielder from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Hockemeyer batted .389 with 26 doubles, three triples, three home runs, a team-best 63 runs batted in, nine stolen bases, .571 slugging percentage and .472 on-base percentage. He was voted the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player.
Hockemeyer will transfer to NCAA Division I Purdue Fort Wayne.
A freshman designated hitter from San Antonio, Smith hit a team-high .459 with 13 home runs and 89 hits, 17 doubles, 59 RBI, seven stolen bases, .747 slugging percentage and .556 OBP. He was a First Team All-DAC selection.
Richland went 42-20 with a trip to the NJCAA Division III semifinals after capturing the South Central District title.
