Hockemeyer Selected DAC Hitter of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Richland's Nick Hockemeyer was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

A freshman outfielder from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Hockemeyer hit .750, going 8-for-12 with three doubles, three runs batted in, two stolen bases and two walks, and scored five runs as the No. 14-ranked Thunderducks went 3-1 against Vernon College last week.

He had two hits in both of Richland's home victories over Vernon Thursday, and went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 10-6 second game win at Vernon.

Hockemeyer, who has hit safely in all five games he's played in this year, is batting .600 with five RBI.

Richland (5-1) will play at Panola College 3 p.m. Thursday to begin a six-game road swing over the next two weeks. The Thunderducks return home Feb. 23 to host Frank Phillips College in a doubleheader.
