Scrantom Named DAC Pitcher of Week

Dallas College Richland's Jason Scrantom was selected the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. It is the final weekly award of the year.

A sophomore right-handed pitcher from Sachse, Texas, Scrantom pitched six innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk, and struck out a season-high 11 batters in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 12-ranked Thunderducks' 3-2 win over Dallas College Mountain View to end the regular season. Scrantom did not figure into the decision in the victory.

In 10 appearances this season, Scrantom is 3-3 with a 2.98 earned run average and 65 strikeouts in 45.1 innings.

Richland (35-20) will compete in the NJCAA Division III South Central District Tournament this week. The Thunderducks are scheduled to play at 1 p.m. Thursday.
