No. 10 Eastfield Holds Off No. 9 Richland on Road

DALLAS -- Dallas College Eastfield beat host Dallas College Richland, 94-89, in a battle of two top-level men's basketball teams Wednesday night. 

At stake was the upper hand at the No. 2 seed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament that begins next week.

Eastfield, No. 10 in the NJCAA Division III rankings, split the regular season matchups with No. 9 Richland this sesaon, with both winning on the opponent's home court.

In an impressive back and forth game, Eastfield held off Richland for the road victory. Five players scored in double figures for the Harvester Bees, who improved to 20-6 overall, 6-3 in the Dallas Athletic Conference. Amari Williams had 25 points, six assists, six rebounds and two steals. Dwayne Reliford had 18 points, seven boards, two blocks and a steal. Tylan Harris had 14 points, four assists and three steals. Torian Harris had 13 points and five rebounds. Tyler Jones had 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. 

To secure the second seed in district tournament, Eastfield has to beat league unbeaten Dallas College North Lake 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastfield on Sophomore Day.
