Bio

Lynn Nabi was named athletic director at Dallas College Richland Sept. 19, 2022. 

Nabi spent 15 years in athletic administration at the high school and junior college level in Jacksonville, Texas, prior to assuming his post at Richland. He also has coached girls and women’s basketball at the high school and college levels.

From 2015-22, Nabi was the assistant athletic director and head girls varsity basketball coach at Jacksonville High School in East Texas. His Maidens team won a program season-record 29 games in 2019-20. That year, the Maidens went 29-7 overall, 14-0 in the district, and advanced to the state quarterfinals.

At Jacksonville College from 2007-15, he helped direct the creation of the men's and women's golf, tennis and soccer programs. Jacksonville College also experienced the highest participation numbers and graduation rates from student-athletes during his time as athletic director. Nabi led Jacksonville College's 2008-09 women's basketball team to the most wins (23) in program history, and was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Region XIV Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2009.

In addition to his stops in Jacksonville, he has taught, coached and served as an administrator in the Cedar Hill Independent School District, where he was part of a coaching staff that won back-to-back district championships in 1991-92 and 1992-93, Fairfield ISD from 1993-99 and Rockwall ISD from 1999-07. His teams have collected him over 300 career wins at the high school and college level. He advanced to the region tournament with Fairfield in 1996-97 and Rockwall in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

Nabi has held memberships in the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Texas High School Coaches Association.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1988 and a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from Midwestern State University in 1991. Lynn and his wife, Susan, reside in Dallas.
