Richland Shines in Classroom: 17 Thunderducks Earn All-Academic Honors

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's athletic department was represented by 17 student-athletes who earned National Junior College Athletic Association Division All-Academic Honors.

Four Thunderducks earned First Team All-Academic honors. To be eligible for First Team honors, a student-athlete must post a 4.0 grade point average during the academic year, and complete at least 24 credit hours. Student-athletes who graduate in December are not required to complete 24 credit hours.

Richland baseball players Nicholas Yates and Keegan Courtney were First Team All-Academic recipients, as were men's soccer players Saimon Gjeci and Tommaso Truant.

Men's basketball's Taven Washington, baseball's Austin Smith and Carson Caudill and men's soccer's Angel Ledesma, Gennara Ammirati and Enrique Alvarez earned Second Team All-Academic honors. To be eligible for Second Team honors, a student-athlete must post a GPA between 3.8-3.99 during the academic year, and complete at least 24 credit hours unless they graduated in December.

Women's soccer's Kaitlyn Werleman and Hannah Harris, baseball's Noah Pena and Taylor Hendrix, and men's soccer's Gabriel Matute, Samuele Muroni and Enzo Nogue received Third Team All-Academic honors. To qualify for Third Team All-Academic distinction, a student-athlete must post a GPA between 3.6-3.79 and complete 24 credit hours during the school year, or graduate in December.
