Thunderducks Women's Hoops Open Season Nov. 1
DALLAS – Dallas College Richland women's basketball team will open the season Nov. 1 at Temple College.
The Thunderducks, who went 1-16 overall, 0-4 in the Dallas Athletic Conference last year, will play Connors State College Nov. 4 in the home opener. Following two road games at Cisco College and the University of Arkansas Cossatot Nov. 8 and Nov. 14, the Thunderducks, under the direction of first-year head coach Troy Thrasher, will return home Nov. 18 for a matchup against Arlington Baptist University Junior Varsity.
Richland will finish the month of November with nonconference games at Dallas College Mountain View and at East Texas Baptist University's Junior Varsity, Nov. 21 and 28, respectively. The Thunderducks play a nonconference game at home against Dallas College Cedar Valley Dec. 2 as the first of three at Richland before the holiday break. Clarendon College and Cisco College also will visit Dallas on Dec. 9 and 11, respectively – both for 2 p.m. matinees.
After a three-week holiday hiatus, the Thunderducks host Panola College Jan. 6 and Arkansas Cossatot Jan. 9 to begin a seven-game month. Five of those games are at home, including the DAC opener versus reigning league champ Mountain View Jan. 18. The Thunderducks finish the month at home against Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Richland's first road game in the league is set for Feb. 1 at Dallas College Cedar Valley. Following the completion of the home-and-home with ETBU's JV Feb. 5, the Thunderducks play at Mountain View Feb. 8 for the final league road game. Richland will finish the season on a four-game homestand Feb. 12-22, the last of which the DAC and season finale against Cedar Valley.
The National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Central District with Regions 4, 5 and 12 is scheduled for March 1-2 in either Joliet, Illinois or Palatine, Ill.
